The reality of this post is that I am not writing it. My dear husband is transcribing as I talk while nursing a wound. There was a pot on the stove with a handle. I did not realize that pot had just come out of the oven, so I grabbed it and proceeded to burn the lower third of my right hand. So quickly I realized that for a life lived with a pen in hand or in front of a computer I am at the mercy of my fingers working. That being said, I hope you understand that this post will be short as I try to figure out how to make the burning stop.
However, I will leave you with an art journal reflection from earlier this week. I meditated on Psalm 104 in a small group. The verse that stood out to me was 19- The moon marks off the seasons, and the sun knows when to go down. And as we processed through art, this is what came out of it.
So as I practice what I preach, even as I prepare for this weekend’s retreat, I was cruelly reminded of self-care today. Slow down, breathe, and undo the day. I hope that you can practice that as well this week.
As I still am trying to get over this cold and find some thoughts in my brain worth writing down, I have been reading a lot of other people’s blogs/books/articles/etc. One of the young women I mentor has started her own blog and it is completely worth checking out. She has one of the most beautiful and artistic art journals I have seen and I am inspired by her. She started her blog to help people start their own art journals. Check it out to be inspired too: This Adventure Called Life
I created some space to art journal and I wanted to share them with you.

I am finally using my studio!! I had yet to post pictures for hope that one day it will be completely organized and clean, but that’s not the point of a “Beautiful Mess” room. I finally took pictures of my place of inspiration and also attached some new artwork as well to inspire you to create
My flea market chandelier with my brown walls and blue ceiling… I love this room!
About the metal sheet… it’s going up on the wall eventually to be a fabric covered magnet board, but in the mean time, that is its home. Like I said “messy.” Special thanks to my friend Natalie who is now my professional organizer!
Lastly, just a quick art blog
